AI for Social Innovation Conference
The AI for Social Innovation Conference convenes two hundred people at BYU Aspen Grove, October 20 to 22, 2026, around a simple observation: the people building AI tools, the people living the problems those tools could serve, and the people with resources to deploy are rarely in the same room.
The conference seats five audiences, humanitarian organizations, AI researchers, social innovators, community stakeholders, and funders, at working tables organized around specific problems: preventing homelessness, forecasting famine, disaster response in rural communities, the environmental costs of AI itself, data sovereignty, affordable housing, neurodiversity technology, teen wellbeing, prosthetics access in developing countries, AI ethics and public policy, and the evidence standards that keep all of it honest. Every table is deliberately composed so that people working the same problem from different positions finally meet, and every table ends with named commitments and next steps.
Keynotes Milind Tambe of Harvard, Hannah Kerner of NASA Harvest, Shaolei Ren of UC Riverside, and Ambassador Muhammadou Kah, The Gambia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, work at the tables alongside everyone else. More at aisi.byu.edu.
